Oneness, by Rumi

Silybum marianum

Come closer, closer, and closer!
How long does this separation last?
And struggle, and fight.
You are me, and I am you.

Why are we now so bigoted?
Why is light away from light?
We are all in mature oneness of one,
Why are we now so away?

Rich insulting poor,
Right leering left,
Of your both hands,
Which is divine, what is not.

We are one pearl of oneness,
One head, one mind,
Why now see double?
Poor under the dome of sky?

Take all your assets,
From five senses, six directions,
To oneness.
Pour and mix to the people,
Be one with the people,
You are an ocean when you are one,
You are a drop when you are alone.

The lion does his will,
The dog dogs,
Pure soul souls,
The body bodies.

Consider as one, both soul and body,
They number a lot,
Like almonds,
But all with the same oil.

There are numerous languages on the Earth,
But meaning is one.
Break cups and jugs,
See how water finds its own way.
Quit fighting,
Reach oneness.
See how soul finds the way,
And reaches the souls.
